You can see that for DCI Steve Burt it is about teamwork and he knows how to get the best out of his team to achieve results, it is also refreshing to read about a lead character that is not troubled in someway and does things by the book.IParcelable IJavaObject IJavaPeerable IDisposable Remarks Plot wise, I found this to be ingenious in the way that you can take seemingly separate murders and tie them together, mixed with the authors writing style, the story flows and makes for a fast paced read as you can see events happening in real-time, it is a read that keeps you on the edge of your seat, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way, and as you read the tension and drama only heighten especially as you race towards the dramatic finaleĪnother standout feature are the way the characters are written and there are a vast array, however you can instantly relate to these and in someways picture them in your mind, they are written with that human touch, each there to play a vital role in the story. The storytelling of the book I found to be outstanding, in that it leads you on a journey as the investigations unfold, the writing is slick and whilst it touches on those office based elements of an investigation it does not get bogged down, neither does it distract from the story, for me they actual enhanced it, in showing what is involved, this is a side you don’t always see when reading a Police procedural, however, in someways they are vital in showing the realities of life There are two separate story line threads running throughout, however the author cleverly interweaves these and knits them together. What I came away with was the knowledge that I had just read an outstanding Police procedural and part thriller. This is a new author to me, so I came at it with no preconceived ideas of what to expect. ![]()
